
Web 2.0 is one of the terms being used by people within the industry, but there is a lot of ambiguity within the general population as to what "Web 2.0" exactly is. Tim O'Reilly, the publisher and net advocate devised the term Web 2.0 during a conference brainstorming session between O'Reilly and MediaLive International.
Tim O'Reilly wrote an article entitled "Web 2.0 - Design Patterns and Business Models for the Next Generation of Software" outlining the history behind Web 2.0 and its implications for the web as a whole.
